WET ROOMS

Why a wet room?
Advantages:
- A wet room is super-stylish and perfect for creating a contemporary look.
-As a second bathroom, a wet room can easily increase the value of your home.
-Great for small bathrooms - removing the bath creates loads more space.
-Wet rooms are, in general, easier to clean ? no shower screen or tray to worry about and if you go for a wall-hung sink and toilet, it's easier still.
-If it's done properly, your floor (the bit under the tiles) is better protected than it would be in a standard bathroom.
Wet room installations are becoming more and more popular. They are stylish, easy to maintain, great to use and look fabulous.
However wet room installation is a specialist installation and should only be completed by professionals.
Essentially a wet room is a waterproof room with a shower enclosure in it. A gently sloped floor ensures all the water goes into a drain. Get in wrong and your wet room becomes a wet house.
Kent bathroom fitters have a great deal of experience in wet room installation and we have an extensive range of shower enclosures and associated bathroom ware for you to choose from.
For our wet rooms we use only first class tanking kits German made, MIRA tanking system
The MIRA tanking system is for completely waterproofing wetrooms and damp areas in bathrooms, washrooms and shower areas. It consists of Mira 4180 sealer for priming porous surfaces,Mira 4400 multicoat which is used with Mira safecoat rolls and seal manchets to fit round pipe and drain openings. Minimum usage of the 4400 Multicoat is 1.25kg/sqm on walls and 1.5kg/sqm on floors. Mira tanking products can be used with Dukkaboard insulation boards to provide a base for electric underfloor heating systems.
